Carver Rescue 1 is a 2006 Hackney Emergency Vehicles Heavy Rescue on a 2006 Spartan Chassis.  It is powered by a 330 Cummins diesel motor with an Allison 6 speed automatic transmission.  A 158 inch wheel base, 50 degree cramp angle, on-spot tire chains and locking rear differential make the vehicle very maneuverable and capable of dealing with severe New England winters.  The cab is air conditioned and seats 4 firefighters.  The overall length is 30 feet 6 inches and it is 9 feet 8 inches high.  It has a complete LED emergency warning light package, 1000 watt fixed magnifier lights on all 4 sides of the truck, as well as 110 volt fluorescent and 12 volt LED compartment lighting.  An Onan 3 Phase 40 KW PTO driven generator provides electrical power to 4 - 200 foot electric rewind cord reels, and a 20 foot telescoping 5,400 watt light tower.  It also powers a Hurst Trimo hydraulic pump which feeds 3 - 100 foot pre-connected hydraulic reels.

 Roll Out Hurst Unit - Removable Hurst Electric Trimo Pump with 3 pre-connected hydraulic lines.  Two of the lines go to the front bumper compartment and one line goes to the tilt down ram tray.

 Cord Reels - 1 - 200 foot electric 240/120 volt cord reel with distribution box (Yellow), 1 Hurst 100 foot hydraulic pre-connected Ram line (Blue)

Tilt Down Ram Tray - One pre-connected Hurst T-41 telescoping Ram and one each Small, Medium and Large Hurst Rams

 Slide out Tray - 1 large hydraulic extension ram, Safety chains, Spare spreader tips, Rocker panel support brackets, assorted Hurst tool accessories

 Flip down lid - 8 foot 2x4's, 8 foot 4x4's, 8 foot sheets of 1/2 inch and 3/4 inch plywood

Carver Rescue 1 is the product of hundreds of hours of hard work by an extremely dedicated Committee with representation from all 3 firefighting Company�s within the Department.  All were residents and taxpayers of the Town of Carver.  Collectively,  they represented over 175 years of emergency service to the people of Carver.  The charge given to the Committee was to prepare a specification for a replacement Rescue Truck that would not only serve the community for the next quarter of a century, but also do it with enhanced efficiency and safety.  Carver has a history of developing apparatus with common sense practical innovation that performs with simplicity and allows the firefighter to do their jobs quickly and safely.
